It had been a long night, waiting for the bats to come out. Even after playing from behind for seven innings, and 2 outs in the bottom of the ninth, the home crowd on the hill never gave up. With 2 outs in the bottom of the ninth and 2 strikes, it could have been the end of a great winning season for your Mocksville Davie American Legion Baseball team. It was the noisiest it has been on the hill along the first base line in quite a while.
With 2 men in scoring position, 2 outs, and 2 strikes… on the last pitch of the game, Mocksville’s left fielder, Zach Long hit a double that drove in the tying and the winning runs for a final score of Mocksville Davie 7, E Randolph 6!
After being down 4 runs in the bottom of the ninth inning, that 5 run rally felt like history being made under the lights at beautiful Mando Field in Rich Park in historic downtown Mocksville.

Playoffs continue at when we meet Salisbury again tonight in Salisbury at 7 PM. A win tonight may mean yet another home game at Rich Park in Mocksville later this week.
