The Davie County Chamber of Commerce is presenting the 4th Annual iSHOPDavie Gift Shopping Expo Thursday, November 2nd from 2:30pm to 7:00pm at WinMock at Kinderton, 168 E. Kinderton Way, Bermuda Run.  Over fifty vendors will be showcasing and selling their products and services to the public.  Several local restaurants and caterers will be onsite offering a wide variety of food samplings and items to purchase. All Aboard! DCCC Enrollment Bus – Custom Built to Deliver Opportunity!

When the staff at DCCC, the Community College of Davidson and Davie Counties, comes up with a way to expand opportunity to more members of our community, the wheels start rolling. Most recently, the DCCC Enrollment Services staff came up with the idea of building an enrollment bus that could be taken to community events and locations throughout the year to engage prospective students and help them learn about opportunities at the college and jumpstart the admissions process. Free Books for Davie County Children! Smart Start Receives Funding to Expand Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library Across NC

The love of reading begins in a parent’s arms. Snuggling together with a good book creates connections that help build young children’s brains and conditions their minds and memories. For the past 10 years, Smart Start of Davie County has been raising funds to provide free books to the county’s youngest readers through Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library. 2017 American Legion Junior State Tournament Begins Friday in Mocksville!

Remember the crack of the bat, the roar of the crowd, and the smell of fresh popcorn? Relive those good times as the 2017 North Carolina Junior American Legion Baseball State Championship Tournament kicks off in Mocksville on Friday, July 14th.  The tournament will be held at Rich Park’s Mando Field from July 14th– 18th .    A game pass is only $6 per day with multiple games played daily. Free Event ~ Lawn Mower Parade, Free Ice Cream and Watermelon and Free Water Slide – Tuesday, July 4th in Cooleemee!

Since the 1990s, Cooleemee has honored Independence Day with a lawn mower parade that begins at Cooleemee School. Anyone can participate by lining up a patriotically decorated lawn mower, float, car, bicycle or pet by 9:30 a.m. The parade begins at 10 a.m. Bring your lawn chair and view the parade along Marginal Street. WalMart of Mocksville, a sponsor for this event, is offering free ice cream to the community as well as three $25 prizes for parade entries.
