The new store, located at 1355 Yadkinville Road in Mocksville, a replacement store for the 1117 Yadkinville Road location, is twice the size and offers a convenient covered donation drive-through. 2010 Veteran’s Day Essay and Poster Contest

Davie County students are invited to enter the 2010 Veteran’s Day essay and poster contest.  The topic for the 2010 contest is “How can I do my duty to my country.” The poster contest is open to all Davie County students from kindergarten through 5th grade and the essay contest is open to all Davie County students from 6th through 12th grade. Tim Trudgeon of Turkeyfoot Creations in Davie County is a celebrated pumpkin carver this time of year.  His pumpkin carving demonstrations at the North Carolina State Fair October 16th to 21st drew large and enthusiastic crowds. Beach Night at Junker’s Mill This Saturday!

Bring your lawn chairs and enjoy old fashioned Carolina style beach music under the stars ~ it’s Beach Music Night at Junker’s Mill Outdoor Theater in historic downtown Mocksville this Saturday, October 16th, from 7:00 to 9:30 PM. Davie County Schools Showcase and Homecoming Parade This Saturday in Historic Downtown Mocksville

Some Davie County citizens remember when Davie County High School Homecoming Week was kicked-off with a parade through town.  The annual homecoming parade was brought back last year and will be back again this Saturday, October 16th, in conjunction with the 2010 Davie County Schools Showcase event. The Davie County Schools Showcase will feature students providing entertainment and demonstrations beginning at 9:00 AM on the square in downtown Mocksville and at Junker’s Mill Outdoor Theater.
