The Unemployment numbers for November have just been compiled by the North Carolina Employment Security Commission and the Davie County unemployment rate remained stable at 8.9% for November 2010 (the most recent figures available). Unemployment in North Carolina grew in November for every North Carolina county except Davie County. Since November of 2009, unemployment in Davie County has fallen from 10.8 to 8.9%. The Davie Community Foundation accepted a challenge from Reynolds American Foundation to raise $50,000 for the Children’s Reading Fund to receive a $25,000 match from Reynolds.
