Summer Brings Art to the Street ~ “Flags of Davie”

“Flying Canvasses” The Davie County Arts Council, in collaboration with the Town of Mocksville, is exhibiting the fourth annual “Flags of Davie” along North Main Street.  This is a community arts project of flags painted with summertime themes. The Great Bullhole Duck Race of 2010!

Saturday, July 3rd, 2010 started out like any other summer weekend day at the Bullhole.  Sunbathers, swimmers, fishermen and families looking to beat the heat descended on RiverPark at Cooleemee Falls for a family day at the beach.  At one point in the early afternoon, it became apparent to all that this was not going to be the average quiet and relaxing day at the park.  When a tractor full of rubber ducks appeared, everyone knew that this was going to be a day to remember. Independence Day Fireworks in Rich Park on 4th of July!

The annual Independence Day fireworks show at Rich Park in Mocksville is on again for this 4th of July.  There will be music, entertainment and food starting at 7:30 PM on Sunday, July 4th, with fireworks beginning at 9:30 PM.  This is a free family event.  Come on out and enjoy the fun! Parking is $5 at Rich Park, YMCA & Mocksville Elementary – other locations are free

13 Annual Patriotic Lawn Mower Parade To Cut a Path Through Cooleemee!

Piedmont Antique Power Association presents the 11th Annual Tractor and Engine Show and Parade at the Clement Grove Picnic Grounds located at 201 Poplar Street off North Main Street (behind the Brock Performing Arts Center) in downtown Mocksville, NC on Friday and Saturday, July 2nd and 3rd.
