Cold Wet Weather Delays Davie County Christmas Parade ~ Re-Scheduled for Tomorrow, Sunday, December 6th at 2:00 PM

The Davie County Christmas Parade gets rain delay.  The parade, running along North Main Street in Mocksville has been delayed by one day and will now occur on Sunday, December 6th at 2:00 PM. Parade Grand marshall Lanie Pope, WXII 12 chief meteorologist is confident that weather will be dryer and warmer by Sunday afternoon.

New Hospital Coming to Davie County!

Local Health Care Investments Continue to Spur Economic Growth in Davie County, North Carolina ~ Announcing one of the largest investments ever in Davie County during a news conference today, Donny C. Lambeth, President of North Carolina Baptist Hospital told the audience that Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center will receive a Certificate of Need (CON) to build a hospital in Advance that will include 50 acute care beds, 10 observation beds, and an out-patient ambulatory care center. Great New Future for a Stunning 17,000 Square Foot Barn in Davie County

Thanks to Sterling Events of Clemmons, NC, the historic Win-Mock barn at Kinderton is scheduled for restoration.  It will be updated for safety and comfort and will be transformed into an event center that will soon host some of the most beautiful weddings, social events and corporate meetings in the southeast. The barn was built in the 1920’s by S. Clay Williams, former president of RJ Reynolds Tobacco Company. Like most structures with a claim to RJR heritage, this barn is architecturally magnificent. 19th Annual Limited Edition Davie County Christmas Ornament Premiering This Weekend

In what has become a treasured Davie County tradition, the 2009 Davie County Christmas Ornament will be premiered this weekend during the annual open house held by the local shops in historic downtown Mocksville from 1 to 5 PM on Sunday, November 22rd. Local artist Janet Dean has captured a scene from a bygone era for the 2009 ornament, a painting of a bustling, historic “Martin Brothers” building.
