All Day Festival in Downtown Mocksville This Saturday ~ Oktoberfest!

Experience all the fun and gusto of an authentic Bavarian festival in downtown Mocksville this Saturday from 10 AM until 8 PM.  There will be an all day arts and craft fair along with German and American food and beverages.  There will also be booths from several local organizations. 2009 Davie County Schools Showcase and Homecoming Parade!

Just 5 weeks into a new school year, math and science clubs, literary groups, bands, madrigal singers, drama clubs, athletic clubs and a variety of musicians performed and provided demonstrations of academic, athletic and cultural talent. The 2009 Davie County Schools Showcase was a day of dynamic and inspiring activities which demonstrated to our community that the students, teachers, parents, volunteers, school administrators, school board, community leaders and the citizens in Davie County have a lot to be proud of. Choco-Latte Fall Friday Winetasting Tonight!

What a great way to start the weekend! Choco-Latte’s first Fall Winetasting Friday is tonight, Friday October 2nd from 5-8pm.  Local favorite Westbend Vineyards will attend, as will a brand new local winery, Cellar 4201.  Just confirmed-The Divine Llama Winery from Eastbend will also attend. Just a $3 tasting fee per person. Hors d’oeuvres will be provided by the Savory Spoon.  Bring your friends and enjoy a night of delicious wine, wonderful food, and wonderfully unique shopping. This Saturday, October 3rd – Davie County Schools Showcase and Homecoming Parade!

On the Square in Downtown Mocksville The first annual Davie County Schools Showcase and Homecoming Parade will be held this Saturday, October 3rd, and everyone is invited!  The day will include face painting for the kids, food, and lots of entertainment.  Activities will be held on the square in downtown Mocksville with performances by students and teachers at Junker’s Mill. 3rd Annual Fall Charity Tractor Ride & Show The Cooleemee Civitan Club will host its third annual Fall Charity Tractor Ride and Show this Saturday, October 3rd. The tractor ride tours southwestern Davie County. Along the way, participants enjoy fun and fellowship, have a snack and check out everyone’s tractor. There will also be a tractor show for folks who don’t want to make the ride but would like to show their tractors. The cost is $20 per tractor entry and the fee is tax-deductible. Over 400 Attend Davie County STEM Community Collaborative!

The Davie County NCSTEM Community Collaborative kick-off on Monday, September 28th was a dynamic, high energy event attended by over 400 engaged Davie County citizens. Dynamic speakers challenged community leaders, parents, teachers and students to collaborate on developing innovative solutions to the challenges of the 21st century in STEM education. TOWNSENDS ADDS 103 JOBS IN DAVIE COUNTY

I sent out a Twitter update early this morning about attending a Davie County Economic Development Commission update.  It turned out to be a very significant update with many state and local dignitaries present.
