Have Some Family Fun Celebrating our Agricultural Heritage

3rd Annual Fall Charity Tractor Ride & Show The Cooleemee Civitan Club will host its third annual Fall Charity Tractor Ride and Show this Saturday, October 3rd. The tractor ride tours southwestern Davie County. Along the way, participants enjoy fun and fellowship, have a snack and check out everyone’s tractor. There will also be a tractor show for folks who don’t want to make the ride but would like to show their tractors. The cost is $20 per tractor entry and the fee is tax-deductible. Over 400 Attend Davie County STEM Community Collaborative!

The Davie County NCSTEM Community Collaborative kick-off on Monday, September 28th was a dynamic, high energy event attended by over 400 engaged Davie County citizens. Dynamic speakers challenged community leaders, parents, teachers and students to collaborate on developing innovative solutions to the challenges of the 21st century in STEM education. TOWNSENDS ADDS 103 JOBS IN DAVIE COUNTY

I sent out a Twitter update early this morning about attending a Davie County Economic Development Commission update.  It turned out to be a very significant update with many state and local dignitaries present. The announcement this morning of new jobs for Davie County was the result of a months-long collaborative effort between Davie County, The North Carolina Department of Commerce, the North Carolina Department of Agriculture, the North Carolina Rural Center, the Golden Leaf Foundation, and of course, Townsends, Inc. Davie County Unveils New Web Portal!

Things got much easier today for anyone who uses the web to locate information on events, businesses, things to do, etc., in Davie County, North Carolina.  A new Davie County web portal was published today at www.daviecounty.com. The web portal includes links to the web sites for the Davie Chamber of Commerce, the Economic Development Commission, the towns of Mocksville, Bermuda Run and Cooleemee, and Davie County government and education web sites. Davie STEM Project Kicks Off September 28

Community Invited to Join in Designing Education for the Future! The Davie community has a unique opportunity to plan the educational program for our students for the future. Davie County is one of three communities in North Carolina selected to develop STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) programs in public schools.
