A History of Hospitality: Welcome to the Johnson House Bakery & Tea Room

The James M. Johnson House in Farmington, built in 1891, has been known as a place of hospitality for more than 100 years. Now that legacy continues as the Johnson House Bakery & Tea Room. Laura Mathis, affectionately known as Mrs. Laura, commemorated her grand opening on Friday, January 20th, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony hosted by the Davie County Chamber of Commerce. A Life Well-Lived: An Interview With General George Johnson

General George Johnson passed away on July 9, 2021, at the incredible age of 103. He was an extraordinary man who lived an amazing life. Although not a full-time resident of Farmington, he was much loved by the Farmington Community who enjoyed his regular visit throughout his life. IGNITE DAVIE Adds Short-term Training Programs for Fall 2023

Beginning in Fall 2023, the IGNITE DAVIE College Promise program will include four short-term training programs at Davidson-Davie Community College.  Previously, IGNITE DAVIE paid for tuition and fees with a stipend for books for graduates to attend DDCC full-time in a certificate, diploma, or associate/transfer program at either campus.  Now IGNITE DAVIE students will have the option to enroll in a 16-week program for Electrical, HVAC, Nursing Assistant 1, or Phlebotomy, which will allow them to quickly start a career in an in-demand field or complete the first step of a certification program.    “This is a new, expanding opportunity that […]

Chick-fil-A Breaks Ground in Bermuda Run
