Color Downtown 2017 is an event the whole family will enjoy … dance and twirl in your tutu, hop, skip, run, or walk your way through downtown Mocksville and Rich Park on Saturday, May 20, and be transformed into a colorful work of art with each color station you pass.
Last year more than 500 people enjoyed being doused with colored cornstarch as they traveled a course through six different color stations. The Color Downtown 2017 kicks off at Rich Park at 3 pm and ends with a color explosion grand finale.
“We are so excited about our biggest fundraiser which supports victims of domestic violence and sexual assault during their time of greatest need,” said Lorri Hayes, director of Davie Domestic Violence Services & Rape Crisis Center. “The funds raised provide the services our clients need during their crisis — emergency housing, food, shelter, the crisis line, and counseling.”
“This year’s numbers are low right now, so we really need people to sign up,” she added.
The Color Downtown raised $10,230 last year. This year’s goal is $15,000.
Register now to join in the fun! The cost is $23 per person, $20 each for groups of two or more, and children five and under are free. http://www.active.com/mocksville-nc/running/distance-running-races/color-downtown-2017-29660255?int=
Event details and schedule
Color Downtown is a fun run so it will not be timed, but to keep count of participants on the day of the event, each will be assigned a bib number. The bibs will be distributed at packet pick-up and must be worn on the day of the event.
***After April 28th, t-shirts will only be available for PURCHASE at packet pickup and on event day! T-shirts will NOT come with registration***
Packet pickup will be held May 15-17 from 3 PM -7 PM at the Mocksville Library at 371 North Main St. Unfortunately, the day of the event will be too chaotic to include same day packet pick-up.
Presenting sponsors are Vogler Koontz PLLC and Family Care Center of Mocksville.
