Groundbreaking at Southpoint Industrial Park in Mocksville – A Job Creation Machine!

Local and state officials and members of the business community gathered to celebrate phase III of the SouthPoint Industrial Park in Mocksville as well as the longtime partnership between Davie County and the Hollingsworth Companies which has provided the community with hundreds of jobs and millions of dollars in investments. Rural Infrastructure Grant Paves Way for Expansion of Southpoint Business Park

The North Carolina Rural Infrastructure Authority has awarded the Town of Mocksville a  $411,425 grant to extend Quality Drive in the SouthPoint Business Park. The improvements will consist of 900 feet of 24-foot-wide roadway, 900 feet of water lines and related equipment, and storm drainage, allowing The Hollingsworth Companies to begin construction on one spec building and three pre-graded building pads.   Construction of a 108,000 SF spec building, as well as 130,000 SF, 150,000 SF, and 250,000 SF industrial site pads is expected to be completed by the end of the first quarter of 2018.  This new development has […]

Squire Boone Plaza Gets a New Lease on Life

The Squire Boone Plaza in Mocksville is getting a new lease on life with a new owner, a new name, and a fresh coat of paint. But these changes are just the beginning. David Tsui, the new owner, has already replaced the roof, and plans to continue remodeling the newly-named Eastgate Shopping Center, as well as improve the parking lot and walkways. Wake Forest Baptist Health—West Campus Opens in August

Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center will open the first of two buildings on its West Campus in August, bringing the world-class services of one of the nation’s premier academic medical centers to Davie County. The four-story, 60,000 square foot building—visible from Interstate 40 at exit 180 in the Town of Bermuda Run —will house physician offices, physical therapy, cardiac rehabilitation, and a pharmacy. Davie County in the Spotlight – Ashley Furniture Breaks Ground on 1,040,000 SF Addition

On Wednesday, April 17, 2013, Ashley Furniture broke ground in Davie County, NC on what will eventually be the largest furniture manufacturing and distribution center in the world.  Part of a 5 year, $500 million investment strategy, the Davie County site sits on 668 acres in Advance, NC that will home to 3.8 million square feet of manufacturing and distribution space when completed. Hospital Construction Fully Underway in Davie County ~ Construction Jobs Today, Health Care Jobs Tomorrow

The future home of Wake Forest Baptist Health – West Campus, the 88-acre site in the town of Bermuda Run on NC Highway 801 at Interstate 40, has been cleared with the exception of the natural wetlands, which are being protected. There may be 100-150 workers when construction activity is at its peak and Wake Forest Baptist anticipates that 200 permanent health care and related jobs will be created when phase one is open. Hospital Construction Ahead of Schedule for Wake Forest Baptist Health – West Campus in Davie County

The 88-acre site in the town of Bermuda Run on NC Highway 801 at Interstate 40 has been cleared with the exception of the natural wetlands, which are being protected. Grading of the site for the outpatient services building also has been completed and workers began pouring the foundation of the 101,000 square foot building, erecting concrete walls below grade.
