Daniel Boone Family Festival This Saturday will Dish up Food, Fun, Music and a Heapin’ Helpin’ of History

Free Community Event! 10 AM to 9 PM On Saturday, May 3, Historic Davie will host the Daniel Boone Family Festival in Historic Downtown Mocksville.  Featuring craftsmen, merchants, educational tours, historic re-enactors, food vendors, and live music, there’s something for everyone at the all-day event which kicks off at 10 AM. The festival originated as a way to celebrate the wedding anniversary of Daniel and Rebecca Boone, and for its first two iterations it was held in August (the couple married on August 14, 1756). Admission is free and the benefits are endless!  Davie County Farmers Markets are now operating in the towns of Mocksville, Bermuda Run and Farmington.  There is a market open each Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday according to the following schedule. Join the Fun ~ 26th Annual Shamrock Run This Saturday!

The 26th annual Shamrock Run, Walk and Tots Trot will be held on Saturday, March 1st, 2014.  A portion of the proceeds from this annual event will be donated to Davie Domestic Violence Services and Rape Crisis Center.   The 2013 event raised $1,000 for the Davie Pregnancy Center!  Online registration is closed but runners may register in person on Friday, February 28th from 4-7 PM and on the day of the race.  Download and complete the 2014 Shamrock Run registration form which includes the schedule of events, fees, directions, etc. The 5k and 10k races are certified by the USA Track […]

Schools Closed For Students & Staff – Friday, February 14, 2014
