From Davie County Farms to Your Supper Table ~ Community Supported Agriculture

Enjoy garden fresh produce all season long!  Davie County is home to two Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) farms.  These CSA farms directly link local residents and nearby farmers, eliminating “the middleman” and increasing the benefits to both the farmer and the consumer. In a CSA program, a farmer grows food for a group of local residents (called “shareholders” or “subscribers”) who commit at the beginning of each year to purchase part of that farm’s crop. Don’t Miss It – Cow Pie Bingo & Silent Auction at the Daniel Boone Family Festival This Saturday!

Cow Pie Bingo is Back ~ $300 Grand Prize! Peachtree Farmer’s Market Opening in Bermuda Run This Friday

The Peachtree Farmers Market will open on Friday, May 4, 4-8pm and continue weekly on Friday evenings through November.  An official grand opening is planned for Friday, June 1. The market is located at 111 Peachtree Lane, on the corner of Peachtree Lane and NC Highway 801 in Bermuda Run (behind the Wells Fargo Bank Building). Daniel Boone Family Festival ~ Historic Downtown Mocksville on Saturday, May 5th

Great bargains on new and gently used books can be found at the Friends of Davie County Public Library book sale this weekend.  Held every spring and fall, the book sales are the volunteer organization’s main fundraiser.
