Davie County Schools – Give Five, Read Five Book Drive ends This Friday, June 2

Is summer brain drain a reality? Studies show that teachers spend an average of 4-6 weeks re-teaching material that students have lost during the summer, but summer reading can help diminish these loses. Reading just 4-5 books during the summer can prevent a decline in a child’s fall reading scores. Free Sounds on the Square Concert this Saturday in Bermuda Run – Special Occasion Band!

The Town of Bermuda Run will be alive with the sounds of beach music as Special Occasion Band (SOB) kicks off the Sounds on the Square concert series this Saturday night, May 27th, from 7 pm-9 pm at the gazebo near Town Hall in the Kinderton Business Park. Color Downtown 2017 is an event the whole family will enjoy … dance and twirl in your tutu, hop, skip, run, or walk your way through downtown Mocksville and Rich Park on Saturday, May 20, and be transformed into a colorful work of art with each color station you pass.
