Need a job? Come to Davie County. Ashley Furniture is hiring. Gildan is hiring. Avgol is hiring. And with the county’s unemployment rate at 4.3%, local companies are reversing past trends and hiring workers from beyond Davie County. That’s right. Davie County – long a bedroom community for jobs outside of the county – is becoming the place to come to get a job. Terry Bralley, president of the Davie County Economic Development Commission, says that despite the lack of available workers, interest remains strong among businesses hoping to expand or locate here. North Carolina Apprenticeships – A Career Strategy That Works!

From an early age, students are programmed to believe that they must earn a bachelor’s degree to obtain a high-paying job, but only 33 percent of jobs in North Carolina actually require a four-year college degree. Mocksville Wins Bid to Host 2017 American Legion Junior State Tournament!

American Legion Baseball has been a summertime mainstay in the Mocksville/Davie area for decades. I recall as a child watching the games with hundreds of supporting fans, sitting on “the hill” or in the stand with friends and family…ready to pounce at a stray ball and trying to not become a peanut gallery casualty.  Then I would wait for the end of the game, anxiously hoping the players would sign my hard-earned ball. I remember my grandfather taking us to the game but, never getting out of his car.  I also remember the Rich Park hot dogs, best around, as […]
