Ducks on Sale Now – Join us for the Duck Race This Saturday at the Bullhole!

The Great Bullhole Duck Race and Family Festival at RiverPark at Cooleemee Falls will be on Saturday, July 21 from 10 a.m.-2  p.m. Proceeds are used for the maintenance and safety of the RiverPark, or the “Bullhole,” as it is locally known. This year, the event will welcome additional elements to ensure a great family experience. Mocksville House of Raeford Plant Sold – New Owners will Expand Operations, Add Jobs!

House of Raeford Farms has announced the sale of its Mocksville, NC-based chicken processing plant to long-time customer Brakebush Brothers, Inc. of Westfield, WI. The central portion of the manufacturing facility off Eaton Road was heavily damaged by a fire last December. Brakebush plans to restore the 72,000 square foot plant with state-of-the-art processing equipment. The updated facility will accommodate three production lines when fully utilized, which is projected for spring 2019. The teachers became the students as 28 Davie County educators explored using the arts to teach reading, a skill that is fundamental for success in school as well as in life. This A+ Schools training was in preparation for Davie’s summer Read to Achieve Camp which is designed to help third graders who have not met state requirements in reading to advance to the fourth grade. The camp also includes first and second graders who demonstrated the potential of reaching grade-level proficiency in reading with extra help in the summer. Auditions Saturday, June 16th – Brock Players Prepare for “Farce of Habit” for Dinner Theater Performance at Triple J Manor House!

The Brock Players will hold open auditions for their upcoming comedy Farce of Habit Saturday, June 16th, at 10 a.m. in the Brock Performing Arts Center Theatre. There may need to be call-backs that same afternoon. Those who want to audition are encouraged to stop by the Brock Monday-Friday between the hours of 12-4 p.m. to review the lines that will be read by each character on audition day.
