Davie County Competing for $112 Million Investment & 290 New Manufacturing Jobs

Davie County is being considered by Gildan Activewear, Inc. for a $112 Million Dollar investment which would create 290 new manufacturing jobs here. Gildan, based in Montreal, Canada, has over 33,000 employees worldwide.  They are a leading supplier of quality branded basic family apparel, including T-shirts, fleece, sport shirts, socks and underwear.  Gildan Activewear sells its products under a diversified portfolio of Company-owned brands, including the Gildan®, Gold Toe® and Anvil® brands and brand extensions, as well as under  license agreements for the Under Armour® and New Balance® brands. Since 1975 the Davie Arts Council has been “Connecting People to the Arts” throughout Davie County and the surrounding areas. The Davie Arts Council is known for its community outreach programs and arts education. Chamber’s Pro Scramble Golf Tournament September 9th at Oak Valley

The Davie County Chamber of Commerce will host its 16th annual Pro Scramble Golf Tournament Monday, September 9th at Oak Valley Golf Club.  Professional golfers serve as captains of the teams consisting of five amateur players.  A shotgun start at noon gets the day started with a post-tournament cookout and awards ceremony to celebrate the winning teams.
