Davie County Beekeepers to Host Beekeeping Course

How to Get Started in Beekeeping The Davie County Beekeepers will host the 7th annual beekeeping short course, “How to Get Started in Beekeeping” beginning 9 AM Saturday, January 28th, at the Davie County Library in Mocksville.  The course consists of five Saturday classes at the library and ends with an “Apiary Day” at a local honey farm where participants will have the opportunity to observe and handle honey bees first hand. Davie Family YMCA ~ “Pay the Day” Membership Offer

The YMCA of Davie County has launched the annual “Pay the Day” membership offer to help people get the new year started off right! The Pay the Day program reduces the initial fee to join the Y to the dollar amount of the calendar day and continues through the end of January.  Join on the 15th of January and pay a $15 joining fee, join on the 20th of January and pay a $20 joining fee, etc. through January 31st. Davie County Honors Hundreds of Service Men and Women!

Honoring Those Who Protect Our Freedom! A “Tribute Tree” to honor and/or remember those who serve or have served to protect our freedom was located beside the Mocksville Police Department during the 2011 holiday season. Entire Tree Filled with Flags! For each $1 contribution, a United States flag was placed on the tree to represent a designated service person.  The contributions were presented to the Davie County Veteran’s Administration for local veteran services.
