Local COVID-19 Testing Site Hours Extended

Need a COVID test? The local COVID-19 testing site at 114 Dr. Slate Drive in Mocksville has extended its hours to 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. Monday through Friday.  This FREE  testing site is provided by Optum Serve – a contractor for NCDHHS. You will not be charged regardless of whether you are insured or not. Pre-registration is not required but will improve overall wait times. Click here to pre-register or call (877) 562-4850. Honoring Martin Luther King, Junior

Almost 60 years ago, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. had a dream. Davie County Fire Marshal’s Office Orders Burn Ban

Davie County Fire Marshal’s Office By order of the Fire Marshal, effective 12/01/2021, there is a zero tolerance burn ban placed on Davie County. “It is fall wildfire season in North Carolina, and we are seeing wildfire activity increase due to dry conditions. With these ongoing conditions, a statewide burn ban is necessary to reduce the risk of fires starting and spreading quickly. DFA Expands Capacity by Relocating to Mocksville

“If you are ever in a Volkswagen, Daimler, or BMW, and it’s really quiet, you’re welcome,” says Jerry Sutphin, vice president of Dr. Friest Automotive (DFA) US. The Germany-based company, which designs and manufactures sound deadening and insulation materials for the automotive industry, is relocating and expanding its US manufacturing operations to Mocksville.  DFA US will move from a 28,000-square-foot-space in Mount Airy into a 110,000-square-foot leased facility at 300 Bethel Church Road, which will allow the company to begin production for a third automotive manufacturer.
