Davie County Habitat for Humanity Softball Tournament This Weekend

Habitat for Humanity of Davie County is having their first softball tournament on Friday July 27 and Saturday July 28 at the Center Ball field located at 1857 U.S. Highway 64 West. RiverPark Festival This Saturday!

2012 RiverPark Festival ~ Family Fun Tube Race, Duck Race & More Don’t miss the RiverPark Festival this Saturday!   New for the festival this year is the South Yadkin River Tube Race.  The tube race will begin at 10:00 am at the Cooleemee Junction Wildlife Access area and end near the Dam at RiverPark. It is about a mile and a half course. Without any extra effort, the float in a tube takes about two and a half hours. Register now for Children’s Summer Theatre Presented by Davie County Arts Council and Missoula Children’s Theatre

The Davie County Arts Council announces that it’s time for Missoula Children’s Theatre!  The nation’s largest touring children’s theatre will visit Mocksville for only 1 week this summer: August 6-11.   Registrations for Children’s Summer Theatre are due no later than August 1st.  Student walk-ins on the day of auditions will not be accepted this year. CPP Global will host an open job fair from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm on Wednesday, July 11, 2012 in Mocksville.  CPP Global is located at 111 CPP Global Drive (formerly Kaydon drive) in Mocksville. CPP Global, a manufacturer of packaging products for the cosmetics and pharmaceutical industries, is opening a new manufacturing plant in Mocksville.  They are investing $5.3 million and creating 140 new manufacturing jobs. Salaries will vary by job function, but the average annual wage for the new jobs will be $39,183 plus benefits. 2012 Tractor Parade ~ Photos and Video ~ Mocksville

The annual antique tractor parade through historic downtown Mocksville was a celebration of North Carolina’s rich farming heritage and a celebration of the great American spirit of Independence with a tribute to our military veterans. Bill Angell was the Grand Marshall of the 2012 antique tractor parade.  Mr. Angell, 97 years old, is the oldest living World War II veteran in Davie County.  The town of Mocksville, all of Davie County and the Piedmont Antique Power Association (P.A.P.A) salute all of America’s veterans!
