High Point Furniture Market Showcases Major Announcement
Ashley Furniture, the world’s largest home furnishings manufacturer, has been part of the High Point Furniture market for more than 40 years.  The eve of the 2012 Spring Furniture Market on Friday, April 20th was an appropriate time and place for announcing Ashley’s $80 million investment in Davie County, North Carolina creating at least 550 new furniture manufacturing and distribution jobs.

Projected ~ 3.2 Million Square Feet on 640 Acres ~ 1100 Jobs
On behalf of North Carolina Governor Bev Perdue, North Carolina Deputy Secretary of Commerce Dale Carroll opened the High Point Furniture Market by announcing Ashley Furniture’s commitment to open the Ashley Furniture Mid-Atlantic Manufacturing and Distribution Facility on 640 acres in Advance, North Carolina.  Site plans unveiled at the announcement show a total of 3.22 million square feet of manufacturing and distribution facilities.  At that size, the plant would eventually support 1,100 new jobs.
