  I was a long-haired 11th grader in Carolyn Beaver’s journalism class at Davie High School when I decided that would be my career path. Journalism. Newspaper work. I never got rich, but I don’t regret that decision. And the 11th grade is not too early to begin thinking about a career choice. Veterans are invited to kick off the new year together by attending the monthly Veterans’ Coffee which will be held in Mocksville this Thursday, January 3rd, from 8:30‐10:30 a.m. at Sagebrush Steakhouse, 1562 Yadkinville Road.  Scheduled for the first Thursday of each month, this free event offers Veterans the opportunity to meet, share stories, and enjoy informal presentations by community organizations in Davie County. Community Support of Davie EDC Leads to Impressive Job and Investment Growth

In December 2013, the Davie County Economic Development Commision launched the “Together We Are Davie” campaign, an ambitious economic growth initiative to create over 1,200 new jobs and to raise $100 million in new corporate investments by 2018. The community was challenged to meet a capital fundraising goal of $1 MILLION DOLLARS.
