Warning!! Lock your doors and guard your brains because the undead will be staggering and lurching their way down US 601 South in Mocksville on Saturday night.
Beach ‘n Tan’s Charity Zombie Walk & Prom, benefiting Milling Manor, a home for ladies with special needs, and the “Just Hope” food pantry, will be held this Saturday, October 17th, from 1-10 pm in the Beach’n Tans parking lot at 953 Salisbury Rd.
Special features include the Carolina Coffin Cruisers (tricked out hearses), the Forbidden Forest Horror Trail, Digger the Zombie, Infinity Elite Gymnastics, Beach’n Tans Thriller Group, Dance Instructor Leah Hines, and Live Band “Nazariff”.
Merchant and food vendors will open for business at 1 pm with a wide variety of merchandise and snacks sure to satisfy both zombies and humans. Raffle tickets for a star quilt may be purchased for $1 each (you don’t have to be present to win). There will also be a 50/50 raffle as well as lots of door prizes (you must be present to win.)
Costume Parade, Spooky Tales, Games and more for the kids from 3-5 pm
Exciting kid’s activities will include a costume parade around the parking lot, Lowe’s Home Improvement children’s take-home project workshops, Ms. Lynn’s Spooky Tales of the Unknown, trick or treating, games, and more.
Zombie Walk Begins at 5:30 pm!
The zombies and their police escort will leave the Beach’n Tans parking lot at 5:30 and parade down US 601 S. to the Food Lion shopping center parking lot where they will peform the Thriller dance before returning to Beach’n Tans to dance the night away.
Kids are welcomed on the zombie walk as long as there is an adult with them. Please note: some zombies may be spooky, gruesome, gory or bloody, and therefore scary to children.
Humans are invited to bring a chair and line up along the route to enjoy the show.
Dance the Night Away at the Prom Everyone is Dying to Attend!
The prom that everyone is dying to attend will begin at 7 pm. Shake, rattle, and roll to the music of “Nazariff”, which offers a blend of Electronica, Alternative Pop, and Electronic Dance Music that is sure to entertain zombies and humans alike. The band has also promised all of the latest monster jams.
A prom king and queen will be selected by a team of judges and elected by prom attendees. Several surprises are in store for the lucky winners.
A free dessert bar donated by Ketchie Creek and a number of volunteers will open at 7:30.
Enjoy the live music, dancing, desserts, and spooky fun until 10 pm.
