advance-christmas-paradee-anchorIt’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas, and Davie County has holiday activities to delight both young and old this weekend.

Advance Christmas Parade at 10 am
Grab a cup of hot chocolate and a chair and head to the Advance Christmas parade. Parade participants meet by 9 am in the parking lot of Shady Grove Elementary School on Cornatzer Road. The parade begins at 10 am at the school and follows Cornatzer Road, turning right onto Highway 801 and left on Peeples Creek Road.

Carriage Rides Through Downtown Mocksville
What better way to enjoy the Christmas lights than a ride down Main Street in a horse-drawn carriage! Carriage rides will start on Depot St. close to Styled Gatherings and circle through downtown from 6:30-8:30 pm on Saturday night. Rides are just $5 per person. Carriage rides will also be available on Saturday night, December 17th.

While you are downtown, don’t forget to do a little Christmas shopping in the unique shops and dine in one of the delightful restaurants.

The Dewey’s Bakery holiday store on Main Street, which benefits the Davie County High School War Eagle Band, is now open from 11 am- 6 pm Monday-Saturday and from 1-6 pm on Sundays. The store also sells War Eagle attire, cups, and other Davie High items.

FREE Concert –Christmas Celebration at the Brock!

Theatre doors will open at 1:30 and seating is first come, first served. The Brock Performing Arts Center is located at 622 North Main Street in Mocksville.
