Davie CONNECT and DCCC, the Community College of Davidson and Davie Counties joined forces on Wednesday, May 8th at the Davie Campus in Mocksville for the first co-sponsored job fair. The event brought together more than 20 employers representing a wide range of professions and industries. Substance Abuse Family Education (SAFE) members will host their first annual Superhero Gala on Saturday, May 11 at 6 p.m. in the First United Methodist Church Family Life Center on North Main Street in Mocksville. The evening will include a meal, an inspirational speaker, recognition of SAFE participants and information regarding the program. Free Community Event! 10 a.m. – 8:30 p.m. On Saturday, May 5th, Historic Davie will host the Daniel Boone Family Festival in Historic Downtown Mocksville. It all starts with a scoop of dirt! The Davie Community Foundation (DCF) broke ground last week on COGNITION, an interactive learning center and makerspace coming to downtown Mocksville in January 2020. The mission of COGNITION is to create an interactive space for children, families, and the community to acquire knowledge through adventurous play, investigative learning, and creative growth.
