After the 2017-18 End-of-Grade test results were announced, the county discovered it had moved up from 45th to 17th out of all 115 districts in the state for third-grade reading proficiency. While the iffy weather kept the crowds just a little smaller than usual for the Mocksville Christmas Parade, the event was a blast for everyone who came out to join the fun. Mocksville Christmas Parade This Saturday – Holiday Events Roundup!

It’s beginning to look a lot Like Christmas and the holidays just wouldn’t be complete without the annual Hometown Christmas Parade sponsored this year by the Mocksville Tourism Authority.  This year’s parade theme is “The Gifts of Christmas”. The parade will feature everything from walking groups, performers, horseback riders, single vehicles to full-blown floats, candy for the kids, and of course, Santa Claus. Come One, Come All; First Annual Cooleemee Christmas Parade, This Saturday, November 24th!

The Town of Cooleemee will host its first annual Christmas Parade at 4 PM on Saturday, November 24th!  The parade will begin at Cooleemee Elementary School and end at the Zachary House.  Families will gather on the grounds of the Zachary House after the parade for food, games, singing, and a reading of the Christmas Story.  Of course, Santa will be on hand for a chat and pictures with the children.
