A free Veterans’ Coffee will be held in Mocksville this Thursday, June 2nd from 8:30‐10:30 am at Sagebrush Steakhouse, 1562 Yadkinville Road.  This is a monthly event scheduled for the first Thursday of each month.  Veterans of all ages have the opportunity to meet, share stories, and enjoy informal presentations by community organizations in Davie County. Golden LEAF awards $3.5 million in grants to bring projects to life In 2011, Davie County’s unemployment rate reached 13% with minimal job prospects on the horizon. Today, the county boasts a 4.3% unemployment rate and booming businesses, according to Terry Bralley, President of the Davie County Economic Development Corporation. Much of that dip in the jobless rate results from job growth in manufacturing and textiles.
