Memorial Motorcycle Poker Run The Joe Phillips Memorial Motorcycle Poker Run leaves the Mocksville Square at 11am and will be riding to Freeborns on the Blue Ridge Parkway for lunch. $20 single rider / $25 for two-up. A textile manufacturing revolution is underway Avgol Nonwovens celebrated the opening of a 4th production line at their flagship manufacturing plant in Mocksville last week. This $35 million investment by Avgol has created more than 40 new manufacturing jobs in Davie County bringing the total workforce at the plant to 180 employees. Avgol manufactures approximately 10% of the global non-woven fabric for baby and adult diapers at plants located in China, Israel, Russia and the United States. Davie County and the Piedmont Triad is getting its first professional summer stock theatre company in decades. Broadway’s Best Theatre Company of NC has announced plans to open a 250 seat theatre in the former ACE Hardware facility located at the intersection of Farmington Road and I-40 in Davie County. The company plans to begin performances next year for the summer of 2013.
