Bed Races This Friday ~ Whacky, Whimsical, and Outrageous Fun!

Historic Downtown Mocksville will race into the Christmas season this Friday night, November 18th, as whacky, whimsical, and outrageous teams from local businesses and non-profits participate in the 10th annual “Twas the Night Before” Bed Race. (Rain date November 19th) The festivities will begin with the lighting of the downtown businesses at dusk, followed by the Parade of Beds at 6 p.m. and the first race at 6:30 p.m. $700 in Cash Prizes at Stake! Dangerous weather, environmental hazards, criminal activity, and missing persons – signing up for Davie County’s Hyper-Reach notification system will help ensure that you are aware of situations affecting your neighborhood.  Thousands of public safety agencies across the US use telephone-based mass notification systems to warn citizens about local emergencies, hazards, and other threats. Davie County launched Hyper-Reach in July to help bring this same life-saving capability to this area.  The emergency alert system provides rapid notification of hazardous and urgent situations using a mix of telephone calls, text and email messages, and TTY/TDD service for the hearing impaired.
