2012 RiverPark Festival ~ Family Fun Tube Race, Duck Race & More
Don’t miss the RiverPark Festival this Saturday! New for the festival this year is the South Yadkin River Tube Race. The tube race will begin at 10:00 am at the Cooleemee Junction Wildlife Access area and end near the Dam at RiverPark. It is about a mile and a half course. Without any extra effort, the float in a tube takes about two and a half hours. Who knows what the winning time will be if the contestant uses a paddle. Registration for the tube race is $20 and there will be a limited number of tubes and life jackets for rent at the Cooleemee Junction Wildlife Access area. You may register on the morning of the race. The winner of the tube race will receive a large trophy with a bull on top and a $100 prize.

Adopt-a-Duck to Win Your Share of $400 in Cash Prizes!
Just 5 bucks adopts a duck and enters you in the race for a chance to win your share of $400 in cash prizes. This local charity event is being held at the Bullhole in Cooleemee and promises to be a memorable day. You may still be able to adopt a duck at the picnic shelter on the day of the festival prior to the race.
Even if you don’t adopt a duck you are encouraged to come on out and watch this spectacular event. The race will begin near the beach at 2:00 PM Sharp. You do not need to be present to win, but you must present your ticket to collect your share of the prize money. Kids activities begin at 11:00 am.
