Davie Chamber Hosts 2020 Outdoor Health Fair

POSTPONED: Out of an abundance of caution and due to Davie County being a red tier community, our 2020 Outdoor Health Fair is postponed until further notice. While we understand that this is unfortunate news, the health of our team, members, and community is of utmost importance. Davie County Opens Free Coronavirus Testing Sites

With COVID-19 on the rise in North Carolina, Davie County Health and Human Services (DCHHSS) has announced that two large scale community testing sites will be opening for Coronavirus testing during the last two weeks of November.  OptumServe will provide no-cost drive-thru testing at the Davie County Community Park and Smith Grove Community Center in partnership with NC DHHS and DCHHSS.  No-Cost Testing Begins Monday!  Testing will be available from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Davie County Community Park, 151 Southwood Drive in Mocksville Monday, November 16th and 23rd; Tuesday, November 17th and 24th; and Wednesday, November 18th  […]

Davie County Public Library Resumes Regular Business Hours

Good news book lovers, the Davie County Public Library has resumed normal business hours at both the Mocksville and Cooleemee locations!  The Mocksville branch is open: Monday through Thursday, 9:00 a.m. – 8:30 p.m. Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. Saturday, 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.  Sunday, 2:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. The Mockville branch is located at 371 N. One-stop early voting in Davie County has begun, giving voters plenty of opportunities to cast their ballots for everything from the president of the United States to other federal, state, and local offices before the November 3rd election. Early voting sites are the Brock Gym at 644 North Main Street, Cornerstone Christian Church at 1585 NC Hwy 801 North, and Jerusalem Volunteer Fire Department at 7185 NC Hwy 801 South. Today is the final day to be counted! If you have not already done so, please take 10 minutes today to make a difference for our community! Despite a two-week 2020 Census extension, North Carolina is still below our 2010 self-response rate of 64.8% and our rate is far below the national average. North Carolina is currently ranked 36 out of 50 states and D.C. for the self-response rate.
