The Davie County Board of Commissioners has appointed former Davie County Manager Mike Ruffin to serve as interim county manager following County Manager David Bone’s resignation last week. He will serve the county for approximately six months while the county seeks a permanent manager. “We are fortunate to have Mike. Mike will be effective in building confidence and stability within the organization, but will also be exceptionally valuable as we diligently search the marketplace for a permanent county manager,” said Commissioner Mark Jones. Resignation Effective Immediately Davie County Manager, David Bone, resigned Friday, February 25, 2022, effective immediately. The Davie County Board of Commissioners met and accepted Mr. Bone’s resignation. Mr. Bone has served as County Manager since December 21, 2020. He has served a total of 19 years as a local government manager, having also served as the County Manager in Martin County (NC), and Town Manager in Wendell, Elizabethtown, and Chadbourn (NC).
