WinMock at Kinderton ~ Progress Update on World-Class Event Center for Davie County

Back on November 23rd, 2009 we published a story on the fabulous future for the stunning 17,000 square foot barn which was part of WinMock Farm in Davie County. Today, Sterling Events officially announced the name, logo and a new web site for this outstanding project. The name of the event center will be WinMock at Kinderton. North Carolina Department of Commerce ~ Partners with Davie County

Members of the Davie County Economic Development Commission and the Chamber of Commerce met with our partners at the North Carolina Department of Commerce at their offices in Raleigh earlier this week.  The purpose of the meeting was to update the Department of Commerce on development activities in Davie County and to provide details on buildings and sites available for future development in the county. New Hospital Coming to Davie County!

Local Health Care Investments Continue to Spur Economic Growth in Davie County, North Carolina ~ Announcing one of the largest investments ever in Davie County during a news conference today, Donny C. Lambeth, President of North Carolina Baptist Hospital told the audience that Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center will receive a Certificate of Need (CON) to build a hospital in Advance that will include 50 acute care beds, 10 observation beds, and an out-patient ambulatory care center. Great New Future for a Stunning 17,000 Square Foot Barn in Davie County

Thanks to Sterling Events of Clemmons, NC, the historic Win-Mock barn at Kinderton is scheduled for restoration.  It will be updated for safety and comfort and will be transformed into an event center that will soon host some of the most beautiful weddings, social events and corporate meetings in the southeast. The barn was built in the 1920’s by S. Clay Williams, former president of RJ Reynolds Tobacco Company. Like most structures with a claim to RJR heritage, this barn is architecturally magnificent. “Smart Development” – Interstate Business Park

Many of you have noticed the construction along Interstate Drive on US Highway 601 just across from the Wal-Mart shopping center in Mocksville, NC. Construction has started on a facility for Sherwin Williams, scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2010.  Construction will begin soon for an outpatient dialysis center for Wake Forest University Health Sciences.  The dialysis center is also scheduled to open in the spring of 2010. Regional Transportation Network Expands in Davie County

Beginning on December 7th, the Piedmont Authority for Regional Transportation (PART) will begin operating a daily express bus service between Mocksville and Winston Salem.    A temporary “Park and Ride” lot will be utilized in the Mocksville Wal-Mart parking lot until construction of the permanent facility is completed.  Initially the service will include stops at both major hospitals in Winston-Salem and a stop in downtown Winston Salem.   A more detailed schedule will be published by PART in mid-November and will be available on the PART web site at www.partnc.org.   Perhaps the best way to get the schedule information as soon […]
