Pumpkin Carving Time for Davie County Artist Tim Trudgeon Shapes up in October

Tim Trudgeon of Turkeyfoot Creations in Davie County is a celebrated pumpkin carver this time of year.  His pumpkin carving demonstrations at the North Carolina State Fair October 16th to 21st drew large and enthusiastic crowds. All County Middle School Band from Davie County Performs at Brock Performing Arts Center ~ Video

Bands from North Davie Middle School, South Davie Middle School and William Ellis Middle School performed together at the Brock Performing Arts Center, 622 North Main Street in Mocksville on Saturday afternoon after the Davie County Schools Showcase & Homecoming Parade. Beach Night at Junker’s Mill This Saturday!

Bring your lawn chairs and enjoy old fashioned Carolina style beach music under the stars ~ it’s Beach Music Night at Junker’s Mill Outdoor Theater in historic downtown Mocksville this Saturday, October 16th, from 7:00 to 9:30 PM. Davie County Schools Showcase and Homecoming Parade This Saturday in Historic Downtown Mocksville

Some Davie County citizens remember when Davie County High School Homecoming Week was kicked-off with a parade through town.  The annual homecoming parade was brought back last year and will be back again this Saturday, October 16th, in conjunction with the 2010 Davie County Schools Showcase event. The Davie County Schools Showcase will feature students providing entertainment and demonstrations beginning at 9:00 AM on the square in downtown Mocksville and at Junker’s Mill Outdoor Theater. The value of goods produced in the top 3 NC metropolitan areas growing at double the national rate!

A recent article in the Greensboro News and Record shows that growth in North Carolina manufacturing is playing a key role in US economic recovery. North Carolina is home to 3 of the top 20 metropolitan areas in the country in terms of output growth.  During the second quarter of 2010, the value of good produced nationally grew by only 0.6% while the value of goods produced in the top 3 North Carolina metropolitan areas grew at about double the national rate.  Details here.
