Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night will stay these leprechauns from the swift completion of their race. The 28th annual Shamrock 5K & 10K Run will be held on Saturday, March 5th, 2016. A portion of the proceeds from this year’s event will be donated to The Dragonfly House Children’s Advocacy Center. Davie High Automotive Skills Training Program Awarded $10,000 Grant from Ingersoll Rand

In order to do a job right, you must have the right tools for the job. Ingersoll Rand is helping to make that possible for students in Davie County High School’s automotive program. Ingersoll Rand, the Official Power Tools of NASCAR, has awarded Davie County High School with a $10,000 Real Tools for Schools grant for its automotive skills training program.  The $10,000 grant will help Davie County High School improve automotive classrooms and courses with updated equipment, supplies, instructor training and curricula. POPSICLE 5K This Saturday February 20th – Tell Cold Weather to Take a Hike!

Lace up your running shoes, and have a chillin’ good time while supporting a great cause — take part in the 5th Annual Popsicle 5k Run! All abilities are welcome. The route begins at Mocksville Elementary across from Rich Park and goes through Mocksville and the new Greenway. Another Davie County Win in Global Aerospace Competition!

The next time you take to the skies, your plane may be riding on retreaded tires manufactured right here in Davie County. On Tuesday, February 9th, Dunlop received final FAA certification to begin manufacturing retread aircraft tires at its facility in Mocksville, located in the Southpoint Business Park on US Highway 601. Dunlop will also use this facility as a North American distribution center for new tires manufactured in the UK. State of Emergency Declared: 8-12 inches of snow expected Friday

As of 1 p.m., on January 21, 2016 Davie County has declared a State of Emergency.  Please be advised of the following: Per the National Weather Service, northeast areas of Davie County are anticipated to receive 8-12 inches of snow on Friday.  In the southern parts of the county, we are anticipated to receive 4-6 inches of snow, followed by sleet and freezing rain—this is expected to begin overnight (early Friday morning).  Sustained winds are expected to be 10-12 mph, with gusts up to 25 mph.
