Community Movie Night at WinMock this Thursday

Come on out for some family-friendly outdoor entertainment this Thursday evening.  WinMock at Kinderton presents the hit move “Despicable Me” at 8:30 PM on Thursday, June 13. Admission is free and there will be fresh hot popcorn and beverages available for purchase. A donation of canned goods for Storehouse for Jesus is encouraged. Traveler Alert! Weather Postpones I-40 Construction – No Closure This Weekend

Wet weather this week has postponed the I-40 construction project and the road will remain open throughout this weekend.   A new concrete overlay is being placed on the riding surface of the I-40 bridge at the Forsyth/Davie County line at mile marker 181 approximately 1 mile west of the Harper Rd. interchange (Exit 182).  On weekends that the road construction occurs, a signed detour will run from the Harper Road exit to highway 158, then to highway 801, then back onto I-40 at Bermuda Run (see map). Peachtree Farmer’s Market is open from 4:00 until 8:00 every Friday evening.  It is located behind Bojangle’s in Bermuda Run on the corner of NC Highway 801 and Peachtree Lane.  Many local farmers bring their goods for sale, and the atmosphere is friendly and inviting.  There are numerous choices at Peachtree, varying from homemade soaps to fresh local meat, and of course produce.  The Farmington Farmer’s Market is open from 8 am to 1 pm at the Farmington Community Center located at 1723 Farmington Road.  This farmer’s market provides locally grown produce, honey, jellies and local homemade items. Beginning at 8 PM tonight, May 31st, 2013 all lanes of westbound I-40 at the Yadkin River bridge will be closed weekends to place a new concrete overlay on the bridge surface. Remembering Josh Rominger ~ Josh’s Jog 5k for ACS Saturday, June 1st

Josh’s Jog is a 5k jog/run in Mocksville this Saturday, June 1st, 2013. The second annual fund raiser for the American Cancer Society will take place in honor of Josh Rominger, a senior at Davie County High School who passed away on April 10th, 2013 after a battle with cancer. Boyles Furniture and Rugs ~ Grand Opening This Weekend!

A Grand Re-Opening of the longtime Boyles Furniture and Rugs location at 182 Farmington Rd., directly off of Interstate 40 in Mocksville is underway.
