Ingersoll Rand Adding 60 Jobs in Davie County!

Governor Bev Perdue was in Mocksville today to announce that Ingersoll Rand will expand its operations in Davie County.  The company plans to create 60 jobs and invest nearly $22 million over the next three years in Mocksville. Salaries will vary by job function, but the average annual wage for the new jobs will be $35,230. Stan Bobbitt Band Opens Summer Concert Series on Saturday June 2

Music from the Porch The Stan Bobbitt Band returns to Davie County on Saturday, June 2 to kick off the “Music from the Porch” summer concert series.   The large front porch of Cooleemee’s Zachary House will be transformed into a concert stage overlooking the audience spread across the lovely green grounds on lawn chairs and blankets.  This is only the first of the summer concert series which will continue on the first Saturdays in July and August. Enjoy garden fresh produce all season long!  Davie County is home to two Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) farms.  These CSA farms directly link local residents and nearby farmers, eliminating “the middleman” and increasing the benefits to both the farmer and the consumer. In a CSA program, a farmer grows food for a group of local residents (called “shareholders” or “subscribers”) who commit at the beginning of each year to purchase part of that farm’s crop.
