flagPatriotism and love of county are alive and well in Davie County.  As our nation celebrates its 238th birthday, our community has a weekend planned that is filled with fun for all ages! Davie County will host fireworks, musical entertainment, parades, classic cars, antique tractors and more as we head into the traditional 4th of July summer holiday season.

Independence Day is known for its explosive fireworks, and at Rich Park, Davie County will deliver a most impressive fireworks show.  July 4th, Rich Park is open with entertainment, food, live DJ for karaoke and music, and of course Fireworks!  The park begins its festivities at 6:00 pm with fireworks beginning at 9:00.  Admission is free, though there is a $5.00 parking fee in some locations.  This is a family safe environment, and there is plenty for the young ones to do.

Parking at rich Park, the Davie Family Y and Mocksville Elementary School will be $5 per car but there are plenty of free parking opportunities behind the Brock Center on North Main Street and other nearby lots.

10 AM Friday, July 4 – Lawn Mower Parade – Free Event!

What a great way to start off the holiday – The 17th annual Lawn Mower Parade will cut a path through the town of Cooleemee beginning at the elementary school at 10:00 AM on Friday, July 4th and ending at the Zachary House.

Lawn mower floats will parade up and down the quiet streets of Cooleemee beginning at 10:00 AM starting at the Cooleemee Elementary School and winding through town until they reach the Zachary House where you will enjoy FREE watermelon, snow cones, and a slip-and-slide for the kids.
