Celebrate the second annual “Joe Fest” in historic downtown Mocksville This Saturday!

The second annual “Joe Fest” poker-run and music festival will be held this Saturday, August 27th (Joe Phillips’ birthday) in historic downtown Mocksville.

Memorial Ride and Poker Run Sign-Ups Begin at 10:00 AM
This year’s celebration of the life of Joe Phillips will begin with a Memorial Ride & Poker Run to Station’s Inn…one of Joe’s favorite destinations. Sign-in for the ride will be at 10:00 AM on Mocksville Square. Cost will be $20 for a single rider, price includes one t-shirt, one patch and one poker hand. Two-up is $25. Pok…er Run extra hands $5. There will be a trophy for best hand. The Ride will depart Mocksville Square @11:00 AM and ride to Station’s Inn on the Blueridge Parkway@ Milepost 248 for lunch. The last stop for the ride will be back to 101 Restaurant on Mocksville Square where Joe Fest will be getting underway @ 4:00PM. There will be door prizes, raffles and a 50/50 drawing.

Music on the Square Begins at 4:00 PM
Joe Fest 2011 will begin at 4:00 on The Square with eight different bands/musicians playing throughout the afternoon and evening, ending with Mel Jones and his fabulous Bag O’Bones playing from 8:30-10:00.

$5 donation is asked for admission to Joe Fest.

All proceeds from the Ride and Music Festival will go to an Endowment Fund for a Music Scholarship in Joe’s name.
