Davie County Tourism Accepting Grant Requests for 2022

Did you know that the Davie County Chamber and Davie County Tourism accept grant requests annually for projects that positively impact tourism in Davie County?

The Davie County Chamber of Commerce wears many hats. In addition to serving as the catalyst for business growth and economic development, the Chamber promotes the community through county-wide tourism initiatives, including providing tourism-related grants.

Chamber President Caroline Moser explained that a large portion of the Chamber’s tourism budget, funded through the county’s hotel occupancy tax, goes directly to support local organizations that “help make Davie County the unique place that we all know and love” through tourism grants. “Over the years we have had the opportunity to support dozens of special organizations and programs.”

Grant applications are reviewed by the Davie County Tourism Advisory Board which serves to assist with the development and marketing of Davie County’s tourism attractions, assets, and potential tourism sites; and to encourage the economic development of Davie County through travel and tourism. The advisory board is comprised of Davie County business leaders who provide innovative advice and dynamic perspectives.

In making decisions on grant applications, the board will consider such factors as the type and scope of the applying organization, the impact and priority of the proposed project, the timetable, the number of applications received, the dollar amounts requested, and the dollar amount available. Applications indicating matching funds on a dollar-for-dollar or greater basis are encouraged and may determine project funding.

Last year, the advisory board was pleased to present grants to the Davie County Arts Council, Davie County Recreation and Parks, Farmington Community Association, Park at Lake Louise, and RiverPark at Cooleemee Falls
