The trip, scheduled for April 6-8, will take participants to New York City and give them the chance to enjoy the sights and sounds of the city… and the opportunity to spend an evening at the Metropolitan Opera at Lincoln Center to see Davidson County native Victoria Livengood, performing “Arabella,” followed by a VIP backstage tour led by the “Dixie Diva” herself.
Sponsored by the DCCC Community Travel Club, the trip will give guests a chance to see a variety of landmarks around the city, such as the Empire State Building, the Museum of the City of New York, The Natural History Museum and more.
DCCC Community Travel Club
“DCCC has a rich history of offering travel opportunities like this to the community,” says Jenny Varner, vice president for External Affairs and executive director of the DCCC Foundation. “The DCCC Community Travel Club provides our friends and neighbors with valuable experiences by visiting amazing places, both in the United States and abroad.”
Varner adds that the upcoming trip in particular provides a great three-day getaway for busy people and also a great opportunity to see Livengood, who is from Thomasville.
Past DCCC community trips have included travel to China, Italy, Switzerland and Peru. This summer, a campus-community group will travel to Australia and New Zealand.
