“Twas the Night Before Bed Race” and all through the town,
were a series of teams wishing the flag would go down;
More rapid than eagles the race beds they came,
And the crowds whistled, and shouted, and called them by name!

This Year’s Race Featured a NEW Course, Race Times, and a Mid-Race Challenge!
This year’s race started between Quad 1 and Quad 2 on South Main Street, continued around Quad 2 onto Depot Street and around Quad 3, turned down Main Street towards O’Callahan’s and the orange cones. At the cones, the four team members pushing the bed held a “Chinese Fire Drill” around the bed and took up a new position around the bed and then sprinted back down Main Street towards the finish line.
Tami Langdon, community development coordinator, appreciates the teams for taking on the new challenge. “Our committee thanks each one of you folks for your participation with this past Friday Night’s Bed Races. A new course and the turns have made this our “learning curve” for the course next year!”
She also thanked the folks who help make the race happen. “The bed race committee and Hannah were awesome.
Special thanks to Tonia, our announcer, and DJ Barry Rentz and the sound crew. Thank you Trailers of the East Coast, the trailer was amazing. And a special shout out to Public Works, Town of Mocksville Police, and Public Parks and Grounds!!!!!”
