Festive Spirit Takes Center Stage With Holiday Home Tour and Art Boutique
Need a little inspiration for your holiday decorating this year? Searching for gift ideas for that special someone? Then you don’t want to miss the Davie County Arts Council Holiday Home Tour & Art Boutique slated for Saturday, December 7 in Historic Mocksville.
From 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM, the gracious owners of eight of Historic Mocksville’s most storied homes will open their doors so visitors can see how they’ve been decked out in the spirit of the season. The tours begin at the Brock Performing Arts Center, with on-site transportation departing to each home every fifteen minutes.
But the Brock will serve as more than a way station for those wishing to see classic holiday decorations: it will also host an art boutique set up especially for the event. Watch local artists and artisans at work and shop for original art creations including jewelry, pottery, textiles, and paintings.
If you’re still not in the Christmas spirit, take in Christmas concerts at First Baptist Church (4:00 PM) and First United Methodist Church (6:00PM). And don’t be surprised if a special visitor from way up North (hint, hint) stops by to brighten the faces of young and old alike.
Since Christmas is the season of giving, it’s only fitting that all net proceeds raised during the Home Tour and Art Boutique will go to the Davie County Arts Council to help it promote arts of all kinds in the community.
Tickets can be purchased in advance for $15 or on the day of the tour for $20. To buy tickets or learn more about this exciting event, call the Brock Box Office at 336-751-3000 (or stop by in person) between noon and 5:00 PM Monday through Friday. You can also learn more by visiting the Davie County Arts Council’s Facebook page, the Council’s official Web site, or the event calendar of the Davie County Chamber of Commerce.
