With amazing art, antiques, live music and crafts for the kids, you do not want to miss the River Walk Art & Antique Festival this Saturday, September 26, from 11 am- 9 pm at the Kinderton Commercial Center, 120 Kinderton Boulevard in the Town of Bermuda Run.
This free family-friendly event will feature free activities for the kids, live music throughout the day, and 36 artists from across North Carolina, as well as a collectibles vendor. Artistic mediums will include wood carvings, acrylic paintings, jewelry, pottery, watercolors, textiles, and metals. Many of the artists will also be demonstrating their talents and answering questions about their technique.

Gifted artists from Davie County participating in the festival include Jim Bailey, Karen Barnes, Carl Bishop , Sue Boggs, Susan Bostian, Danny Casstevens, Eva Casstevens, Susie Christiansen, Denise Harrison, Bruce Harry, Mary Hearn, Mildred James, Wes McSwaim, Clint Miller, Gay L. Poteet, Jill Potts, Kenneth Rethmeier, Jean Shipley, Ray Travis, Chuck Taylor, and Bruce White.
Bluegrass music will have you clapping and tapping!
Well-known bluegrass artists Mona Jo Griffin and Friends, will be pickin’ and grinnin’ throughout the day with a number of bluegrass favorites sure to make you clap your hands and tap your feet.
Rain Check Band, a Winston-Salem-based acoustic quartet, will offer its own unique stylings beginning at 7 pm. The band found its niche by putting a bluegrass twist on songs by some of the world’s greatest song writers like Paul McCartney and Paul Simon, and combining them with many of their own originals, as well as numerous bluegrass classics. Collectively, the four members offer up more than 200 years of experience in playing all types of music including bluegrass, gospel, folk, classical, big band, jazz, pop, and soft rock.
Imagination Castle offers free fun for the kids
Imagination Castle, sponsored by the Davie County Arts Council, will offer free craft activities for kids. Assistance will be provided by the Davie High cheerleaders from 11-2 pm, students from Davie County Early College from 2-4 pm, and the Brock Players from 4-6 pm.
This event is free, so grab your lawn chair and a cooler and enjoy great art while relaxing to the sounds of some enjoyable bluegrass music. Food trucks will be on site to offer a variety of foods and beverages for purchase. The event will be held rain or shine.
River Walk is just one of a series of free community events sponsored by the Town of Bermuda Run this summer. Past events included concerts and outdoor movie nights.
