Josh Perryman
New York native, Josh Perryman, has devoted nearly his entire life to making music. A self-taught guitarist, Josh discovered his passion for playing music very early in life. He had natural talent paired with an enthusiasm for making music that led him to choosing music as his career.
After moving to North Carolina, he toured with several regional bands, including Raleigh based Weekend Excursion. During his time with Weekend Excursion, Josh was able to tour extensively, sharing the stage with a variety of nationally known and respected artists. The band’s music was also featured on television shows including Dawson’s Creek and MTV’s The Real World.
After Weekend Excursion Josh went on to play with hometown bands Tidal and Rude Mood while developing a solo act. In addition to his solo work, Josh now rocks out with Statesville based Sista T and the Smokin’ Section.
An energetic performer, Josh draws his musical influence from rock and blues legends such as Warren Haynes, Duane Allman, and Van Morrison. While these influences are evident in his style, he is versatile and unafraid to stretch beyond his musical comfort zone. Playing a combination of original music and covers, his performances are fresh and unique, and he has something to offer to a variety of musical tastes.
