Looking for a little free, family-friendly fun this week? Downtown Mocksville has two events this Friday, June 20th, that will delight family members of all ages!

Progressive Storybook From Noon – 1:30 p.m. at the Downtown Park
Mocksville’s new downtown park is the perfect place to enjoy a picnic and a story. You won’t want to miss the progressive storybook, “The Bear Ate Your Sandwich,” from noon to 1:30 p.m.

Participants will be led through a series of storyboards that share the charming story of a bear and a sandwich, followed by some cold refreshments.

This free family event is sponsored by the Davie County Public Library and the Town of Mocksville.

Bring your lunch or purchase one from our local restaurants and bring a chair or a blanket for seating.

The storyboards will be left in place until 5 p.m. for those who are unable to attend the event.

Free Outdoor Movie at 8:45 p.m. at the Downtown Park
Who can resist a movie under the stars? Head back downtown Friday night for a free outdoor showing of A Dog’s Purpose. The movie will begin at 8:45 p.m. at the new downtown park on Main Street.

A Dog’s Purpose is the story of a devoted dog who discovers the meaning of its own existence through the lives of the humans it teaches to laugh and love.
