Free and open to the public, Let’s Talk About It (LTAI) is a library discussion series that brings scholars and community members together to explore how selected books, films, or poetry illuminate a particular theme. This free and informal program begins with a presentation by a local scholar followed by refreshments and discussion.
The theme for the current series is “Law and Literature: The Eva R. Rubin Series”. In this series, writers who demonstrate the powerful interaction of law and human affairs invite readers to ponder the difference between what is established and what is just. This series is named for Eva Rubin, a leading scholar on public policy and the U.S. Supreme Court.
The first book being discussed for this series is Billy Budd, by Herman Melville; the scholar is Jill Channing of Mitchell Community College.
