Treat your sweetheart to something special for Valentine’s Day– tickets to the Masters of Soul concert on Saturday, February 13th at 7:30 at the Brock Performing Arts Center.
In the early 60’s some of the most iconic names in the history of popular music were discovered in the Motor City, better known simply as Motown. Masters of Soul is a celebration of these artists, their music and their style. The show features authentically choreographed and costumed tributes to both male and female groups of the era. Masters of Soul’s dynamic vocalists are backed by a band of seasoned musicians who have been performing together for decades.
The audience will take the ultimate stroll down memory lane as they relive, or discover for the first time, the incredible harmonies and smooth moves made famous by many of the greatest recording acts of all-time, including The Temptations, Gladys Knight & The Pips, Marvin Gaye & Tammi Terrell, Smokey Robinson & The Miracles, The Four Tops, The Supremes, Martha Reeves & The Vandellas, James Brown, Tina Turner and more! This high-energy show is perfect for audiences of all ages.
This concert is part of the 2015-2106 Season of Applause! performance series sponsored by the Davie County Arts Council, which is dedicated to the discovery, appreciation and enrichment of the arts throughout Davie County. The Arts Council has been carrying out its mission of “Connecting PEOPLE to the ARTS!” for decades. Other upcoming shows include Hurray for Hollywood!, an encore performance by the legendary pop and jazz trumpet virtuoso, Cecil Welch; and Shades of Roy by Vili V, an authentic re-creation of the music and sound of Roy Orbison.
