Spring Fling in Downtown Mocksville This Saturday

on March 24, 2023

Get ready for a delightful afternoon in downtown Mocksville. The Downtown Mocksville Collaborative (DMC) is hosting the Downtown Mocksville Spring Fling this Saturday, March 24th, from 1 – 4 p.m.  Featuring dozens of  vendors, young entrepreneurs, food trucks, kids’ activities, and live music, there will be something for everyone to enjoy! This event will be held rain or shine.

“We want to invite the community to come out and welcome spring. Everyone is tired of winter, so this is an opportunity to get out and enjoy those spring vibes,” said DMC Vice-President Suzanne Lakey. “Our goal is to create events that all of our businesses can participate in and that will increase foot traffic downtown and bring people in to see how wonderful Mocksville is.”

A variety of vendors from small businesses, direct sale organizations, non-profits, and service organizations will be set up in the parking lot of Skyline National Bank.

Support Young Entrepreneurs

Dottie Graham, president of the DMC, is particularly excited about the young entrepreneurs, students under 18, who will be selling their own creations. “This is a great opportunity for them to practice selling their products and to learn how to run their own business. Last year, I think our youngest entrepreneur was only 8 years old.”

Check Out the Local Shops

Many of the downtown businesses will be offering exclusive deals or sweet treats, and The Punchy Spur western store will be celebrating its grand opening, so don’t forget to make your way down Main Street!

Live Music at The Station

Forever Young, made up of young local musicians Tae Childress & Lake Carver from the band Southbound 77, will perform songs from many genres at The Station. They will be joined by special guests from The Sourwood Honey Band and His and Hers.

Special Activities for the Kids

Paint a piggy bank with COGNITION DAVIE and visit the balloon artist in the vendor area. Fairy hair and face painting will be available for a small fee.

Main St. Brokers will be hosting Bunny Story Time, in conjunction with the Davie County Library, in their foyer. Storytime sessions at 1 p.m., 1:45 p.m., 2:30 p.m., and 3:15 p.m.

Food Vendors for a Tasty Treat

Tantalize your tastebuds with treats from Brash Brownies and A-maize-ing Kettle Korn. Eric & K’s BBQ will be dishing up their delectable barbecue with all of the fixings. Downtown restaurants will also be open for a wonderful meal.

Parking is available by Main Street Park, between Skyline National Bank and the Swicegood Group, in the Town Hall Parking lot, and along Main Street.
