2023 Community EMS Academy

Update from Davie County Government 2023 Community EMS Academy In an effort to educate the community and encourage individuals who may be interested in the EMS career field, Davie County Emergency Medical Services will be hosting their 2nd Davie County EMS Academy. This program consists of 10 sessions and will include education in the areas of CPR, fire safety, basic medical, bleeding control, trauma and more. Ruffin Named Interim County Manager for Davie County

The Davie County Board of Commissioners has appointed former Davie County Manager Mike Ruffin to serve as interim county manager following County Manager David Bone’s resignation last week. He will serve the county for approximately six months while the county seeks a permanent manager. “We are fortunate to have Mike. Mike will be effective in building confidence and stability within the organization, but will also be exceptionally valuable as we diligently search the marketplace for a permanent county manager,” said Commissioner Mark Jones. Davie County Fire Marshal’s Office Orders Burn Ban

Davie County Fire Marshal’s Office By order of the Fire Marshal, effective 12/01/2021, there is a zero tolerance burn ban placed on Davie County. “It is fall wildfire season in North Carolina, and we are seeing wildfire activity increase due to dry conditions. With these ongoing conditions, a statewide burn ban is necessary to reduce the risk of fires starting and spreading quickly. Early Voting 2020 Has Begun

One-stop early voting in Davie County has begun, giving voters plenty of opportunities to cast their ballots for everything from the president of the United States to other federal, state, and local offices before the November 3rd election. Early voting sites are the Brock Gym at 644 North Main Street, Cornerstone Christian Church at 1585 NC Hwy 801 North, and Jerusalem Volunteer Fire Department at 7185 NC Hwy 801 South. Davie County Leaders Modify State of Emergency Declaration

We are modifying the State of Emergency Declaration for Davie County. We were notified this morning by the State Laboratory of Public Health that a person residing in Davie County has tested positive for coronavirus (COVID-19). Davie County Health and Human Services (DCHHS) Division of Public Health is investigating.  DCHHS will work with those with COVID-19 to mitigate potential community spread, as they do with any communicable disease, and advise on appropriate monitoring and testing.  The most recent county-by-county case count is available at https://www.ncdhhs.gov/covid-19-case-count-nc.
